Spring is in the air, and for RV enthusiasts, that means camping season is right around the corner! A way to maximize your enjoyment on the road this season is by prepping your RV for all that could come its way. Alpin Haus is happy to be offering our new Season Readiness Inspection, which allows us to give your RV a full inspection, ensuring it’s ready for the season and running smoothly. Alongside our inspection, some minor care from you will keep your RV running great this season, and for years to come. Here’s a step-by-step checklist, with some tips and tricks to getting your RV ready for a season of outdoor adventure.

1. Inspect the Exterior

After a long winter, when making that first trek out to your RV, we recommend checking for cracks, leaks, or any other minor blemishes that could use some touching up. If you have an awning, it’s helpful to check and make sure it is fully intact.

2. Check Tires and Brakes

Your tires are your RV’s foundation on the road. Inspect them for bulging/cracking, uneven wear, or low tread. After a long winter, your tires may have lost some air pressure, so best to check the air pressure and adjust it according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.

Alpin Haus recommends that tires should be rotated every 5,000 miles to help lengthen tread life and optimize mileage.

3. Inspect the Interior

Check for any signs of moisture or mold inside the RV, especially in cabinets, under sinks, and around windows. It’s also helpful to look for signs of pests or mice that may have occurred during the winter. Finally, ensure that any furniture, bedding, and curtains are clean and free of musty odors before your trip.

A clean and organized space will ensure a comfortable and relaxing adventure!

4. Stock Up on Camping Essentials

Before you hit the road, restock your RV with essential supplies. Here is a list of must-haves for your RV:

  • Fresh Linens
  • Toiletries

  • First-aid Kits
  • Mouse Repellent
